Everything I make is a one-off project - but here are some examples, for an idea of my prices:
Doors
Pictured are four-panel interior doors inspired by a traditional design, constructed using wedged mortise and tenon joints. Fielded panels. I chose poplar in my own home for the pale colour, and as a strong, lightweight wood. I can make all kinds of doors, with a variety of timber. Please get in touch to discuss.
Hours: 20
Value of Wood: $280.00
Price per door: $1,242.00 incl GST
Elm Benches
A matching pair, without backrest. These were tailor-made to blend in with hire items for a wedding. I can make benches in a similar style to your dimensions, to fit your space. I enjoyed the challenge of copying another piece of furniture entirely from photographs, to fit with the wedding design.
Hours: 8 each
Value of Wood: $156 each
Price: $547.00 incl GST each
Farm Gate
Yorkshire gates: Douglas fir. These traditional English farm gates have mortise and tenon joints, a diminished top and diamond bracing. Over the years I’ve made a broad range of gates from traditional to highly-functional or design focused. As always, get in touch and we can come up with a design to suit you.
Hours (for the gates pictured) 8
Value of Wood: $150.00
Price: $552.00 incl GST
Upcycled Sewing Table
I believe this is cherry wood, from a log rescued from a firewood heap. This vintage sewing table was given a new life with the creation of a top which celebrates the natural grain of this beautiful wood.
I’m happy to take on unusual projects if you’ve something you would like transformed and given new life.
Side Cabinet
Macrocarpa Side Cabinet. This cabinet was inspired by Victorian washstands and night tables. It features turned legs and a wide cupboard. The top has a low lip around 3 sides. Unusual and stylish.
This is another example of something made for fun, echoing furniture of the past. Get in touch with your own ideas - your imagination is the limit!
Media Centre
Elm upright media centre: Built to purpose, to house a home cinema set-up. It includes a shallow drawer for remote controls. These are less popular today as smart TVs reduce the need, but I have experience with all kinds of tailored storage solutions.
This is simply an example of furniture made especially for a particular purpose and space. Get in touch to talk about your ideas.
